Sorry that's not what I remember from the beta. Nobody found a way to connect to a LAN server because we had to use battlelog, which used a special id not only for the server ip you wanted to connect to, but also a player id to let the server accept you. So as I remember: no, we couldn't. :)

Beside, these beta client files, even if they are up to date, are waaaaaay outdated from the actual client :o

I don't see a chance that you can simply replace one part of your files to make them work^^

R8 files are very old, you can't use them.

From what I remember, LAN was never possible, what was possible is to make your server appear in the official server list in battlelog with the beta server files, but dice fixed that and created a "white list servers" , so not everyone can make their server to appear, only the server hosting firms that dice have contract with. What NoFaTe is doing is to emulate the backend that server and client uses to communicate with, direct server to client connection is not possible (yet or at all) .

Could someone provide me an updated syntax of connection string?

All BF3 clients require the Blaze backend for client - master server - dedicated server communitcation.
There is no possibility of a direct connection (yet).

It wasn't connecting via LAN, it was still connecting via Battlelog.

Everything that does not work OFFLINE, is NOT LAN. To clarify things here.

Dude, there is no way to bypass the blaze, there was a code line which you can add to the settings, so you can stop the server from connecting to blaze and therefore not give you error, but this doesn't mean your server is connectable ! It's impossible for the protocols to flow without blaze ( as I said yet or at all ) . So wherever you got your files and info, it is untrue or you misunderstood it! Moreover I think the R8 server files are only worth with the beta of B F 3 , so again not usable, because probably the DLC's won't work with it. Just wait for NoFaTe to release the hook, and if we are nice and good, he might make proper offline LAN.

P.S. Give us an info what was written in the forums you got the files from

"Bypasses"? That would render your files pretty useless, because Blaze is needed for basically everything^^

Or do you mean it bypasses the authentication? Well, that should be impossible, your server would have to be in EA's whitelist to connect to Blaze.
