I remember an old Battlefield game had the press "Esc" on mapload to cancel the mapload and go back to main menu. I think it was P4F. Was a pretty handy feature. And the dimness you'e talking about might be SweetFX altering the color saturation, unless you had it disabled, which you can do...

Would be nice if Classic was the default preset. Just removing the dorritos, and auto spot would increase the skill ceiling.

Make it like BF2, and also remove the grey scale when you go out of bounds, that way you can turn ur jet around. Life will be better after these changes.
