There is something like a "lag switcher" that I heard of. It will drop some packages and cause other to experience a tiny lag in the moment they want to kill you. Never seen it live, though.

I saw it only on console since it's peer-to-peer (well maybe in the lastest CoD parts on PC too), but it won't work via server afaik

Also, as said above the reasons are utter crap!

Bad Company 2 isn't peer 2 peer on consoles, other than that it doesn't work with BFBC2.

If you're on the list for "pinging" that means you're simply fluctuating your ping with the server. This is done purposely 98% of the time to cause your character to jump around out of sync with the server which cause bullets to miss you. I take that as a means of gaining an advantage over other players (as your shots will still make their hit box). These bans are entirely based of near impossible situations, or situations that are just plain obvious. I have spent years in coding game hacks from FPS's to MMO's, and also anticheat systems for games like WarZ. It's not hard to spot people cheating or people just plainly not playing fair. There's nothing I can do about these bans as NoFaTe won't allow 3rd party code. So I have no choice but to build my database based on my own opinion (which is roughly 80% right most of the time). Even with code in place automated ban systems aren't always 100% accurate. There is always false positives when it comes to detection algorithms. This is a server side daemon, it just syncs your servers ban list with that of mine. So only servers running this system will actually have my ban list in place. Servers that don't run it, won't have any of the players on the list banned (unless you were already busted by that servers administrator). I highly recommend every server to be running this daemon! This is second best to no anticheat system at all, ban the obvious people. Sometimes its not even hard to get them to confess to their crimes. I just logged out of a server 20 minutes ago where someone was able to kill me through an entire mountain (map floor, impossible to shoot through).

I haven't released the system yet, and I haven't even started writing it (take me like less than 15 minutes). So these bans wont take in effect on any servers until the system is live. You're being added to a public ban list based on my opinion of your gameplay, it's not my fault I would rather have code in place that's much more accurate and effective. Tho with NoFaTe's rules, that's not possible. I plan on pushing this database to an official EN-Bans website in the future. Where I can hold statistics about each cheater that people can openly view. I also plan on rolling over this system once the real anticheat system is implemented, as this system should be widely popular. Like I said before, no code is 100% accurate so I will still be updating and merging Nexus bans along with the database (if there is a public Nexus ban log). Like I said I would rather have code in place, but that's out of my reach.
It's not a bug, it's a undocumented feature.

@ Warmonger

Dude. Why don't you get it ?!

You're about to ban people for insulting and being victims of a shitty written netcode.
Every player may insult other players due to a bad mood that day or any other reason. But it's not a reason for a permanent global ban. Also the netcode is DICE's fault. Their netcode causes the ridiculous hitboxes...

Bans for hacks etc, okay. But without proper proof even those are questionable.

neither the EA GUID or the PB GUID are based on hardware id's.

Unless you run his client the bans are useless, just create a new account.

RIGHT, PERMBAN PEOPLE WITH HIGHPING
mwahahahahahahhaahahahahahahhaahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
damn boy, just kick them with the reason: 'Fix your ping, and rejoin'. And not permban people, who can't get a lower ping since they don't live near the server!

I highly recommend every server to be running this daemon!

Yay, let's trust a random guy
I recommend you to fuck off

I won't yet lock this, as no rule is violated.

@warmonger
People don't quite like the system as it is now it seems. I have no idea how exactly your program will look like, but I recommend you adding the possibility to choose which ban types you want to synchronize.

E.g.: Only ban people who use real cheats (like ESP, WH, Aimbot), but allow people who have high pings etc.
=> Everybody can customize his banlist.

Just a recommendation, as I don't see much of a chance for the project at it's current state.
