What exactly are you talking about? What happens when you join a server?

He is probably having an issue with the game not starting. Usually I get this too but Origin prompts for what I want to use - Cloud or Local data in case of a crash or something like that the last time it happened. So to bypass this, I used the link I gave you to not have to start BF3 through Origin at all..
