RAM or video card?- Long Map Waits

Hey so im running a t400 my school gave to me. (piece of crap i know)
it has 2 gb Ram, an intel express chipset 4 series video card, and a 150gb HD.

My question is that maps for multiplayer take about 2-5 minutes to load and that is
a)annoying
b) all vehicles and armor are gone.

Would adding Ram help the problem? The video card is non-changeable so im stuck there so im curious if investing in RAM will help that.
