Does somebody have more details about this? I got a pretty good linux vserver but I cant test whether
VU with wine will work on it because i dont have the vu server stuff.

Rome runs quite well on linux with a few tricks. But I can't tell you anything about Venice.

NoFaTe stated earlier (i.e. Sept. 2014) that "Windows Vista or newer, Windows Server 2008 R2 or newer" is a requirement for hosting a server.
There
might be a way to host a server on linux later-on, but it's not currently possible from what I know.

When and where can I apply for a server key. I am looking into this for several lan partys where I want to host a LAN BF3 server.

Hi, I didn't really understood a point about game servers:
could we use a local server like CSS time to play in a LAN environement? Or those server wont be publicly available?

Servers require a connection to the Zeus masterserver.
