So me and my brother are unable to play on the same server, any time he tries to connect, his game crashes. Any solutions?

Only game where this is happening.

Can he connect to other servers? Maybe the server is full.

EDIT: Maybe it's because you have the same IP? But should actually work...

He can connect to other servers, only when we try to play on the same, his game crashes.

Right click and select Properties BFBC2
On the General tab, click the Set launch options
Add a different port number on each machine between 27005 and 27032 customer in the following format:
Code: + clientport 270XX (where XX is a different number for each system - do not use 27020)
DVD
Right-click the shortcut for BFBC2, change your fate to something like "../../bfbc2.exe" clientport 27,011 +
For example. My shortcut for BFBC2 on my desktop has a targt line that reads like this: "C: \ Program Files (x86) \ Electronic Arts \ Battlefield Bad Company 2 \ BFBC2Game.exe" clientport 27,012 +
You may have to play around using different port numbers between the two machines. Remember, do not use 27,020 and only use port numbers b / w 27005 and 27032

Try changing the port number, I had success after 4 different attempts:
