Will we be able to add friends?

Hi.
We're not able to add friends in Rome now, and I wonder if Venice could have this function...
Does anybody know whether this will be possible?

I don't know the answer to that, but one thing I know is that Venice is still in Alpha. The testing hasn't begun yet and the project itself is still being worked on. So even if it doesn't have a working Friend system while in Closed Alpha / Open Beta or whatever EN titles them, it will have it eventually in the future.

NoFaTe said once that the Venice client launcher will feature a friends and chat system. But he doesn't know when he will implement it.

VU's launcher will no longer be used for browsing/joining servers and/or performing other similar actions.
Everything has been moved to be in-game and easily accessible.
As for the Friends system, the backend already supports friends and their management, but whether it will be implemented in the first builds of the Closed Beta remains to be seen.

So many promised features, yet, not much to back it up. I want to see some gameplay or something. BF3 has come and gone. BF4 has come and gone. Feels like VU has come and gone.

You can actually see /some/ gameplay on NoFaTe's youtube channel:

Personally I have talked enough with them on IRC to have no doubt that VU exists. I just think they want to take their time and iron out most of the sharp that for example Rome had in the initial release prior to the first rewrite (frequent crashes, no stats functionailty, etc.) before the closed beta starts.
