'Failed to connect to EA online. Please try again'

Greetings,
I just created an account here and am trying to play on a multiplayer server, however I cannot log into my new account within the game. I type my username 'Baby Smasher' and my password but the message 'Unable to log in. Please try again' appears. Some help would be appreciated.

EDIT:
So I used my e-mail address instead of my username and that seemed to work, but another problem has risen. I cannot find a single server in the server browser. When I try to join a random game, it searches for about 10 seconds then tells me 'Failed to connect to EA online. Please try again.' I do of course have the client file installed and the game updated. Please can someone help me with this? Thanks.

Have you even read the tutorial? Press 'Search' in the lower-right corner of the server browser.
And are you 100% sure your client file is b866?
