A present to the the Moderators / Winners Announced!

Wed Aug 07, 2013 11:54 pm

Boy, was it hard deciding. Since only 2 people entered (not counting Robbing and Kerrigan who asked to be excluded) I wanted to make it fair for both of them to receive a good portion of the bundle but eventually, one of them had to get the SR2,SR3,Risen 2 and Sacred bundle instead of the other. So you know what, instead of doing consolidation prizes, both Zesty and Svet will receive the listed games and the "2nd place" prize would be handed out to Kerrigan for keeping the forums so professional and always responding to people in need in any way he could. I have also gotten another key for RobbingHood as an appreciation for sharing his story and despite him saying he won't participate, I do believe that his help in my MaseBC2 tutorial mustn't go unrewarded. So for that, I will hand him a key for the "1st place" prizes as well. I'll send Svet and Robbing's keys through Skype since I already have them, and Kerrigan and Zesty's through the forums' PM system. It was great learning a bit about how you became mods, even if Kerrigan said nothing of it, but I think the best part was figuring out how you found Nexus in general. I personally found it by accident and happened to meet an open-hearted leader (that being Domo back then) who wasn't afraid to share his work with a person outside the team. Through him I got so attached to the community that Nexus provided and I believe that Nexus will be my favorite group of people for a long time, not because of an accident that allowed outside people to play BC2, but because of the freedom that you guys provide and quality you try to keep up, even in the hardest of times like it was around last year's end. Cheers to everyone and I hope I could host a real, bigger giveaway soon :D

[Old]

Let's have a little "competition" among the moderators. 8-)

Give a reason to why you love being a moderator on these forums and why do you like being a part of Nexus in general and I will choose the best in my opinion to receive: Saints Row 2, Saints Row 3, Risen 2 (pretty crap game) and Sacred 2 Gold Edition all in one key (Yes, it's a bundle but some people don't have a card to buy it themselves or want to spend money on games so I am giving a chance to everyone on the Moderators team to win this if they were ever interested in the listed games. I personally tossed 23 hours into SR3 for under a week and I've played that game before so many times).

So given how I played tons of SR3 in this week, I decided to get another Bundle + the DLC this time and I got a key for the Season Pass (which I used on selfish good ol' me) and have a spare key for all those other 4 games in the bundle to give.

Keep in mind I also have a key for Sacred Citadel, Metro 2033 and Risen 1 so there will be a "2nd place prize". The games aren't anything in particular like Saints Row 2 or 3, or even Sacred 2 but they do serve as a consolidation prize. All those games are activated on Steam so if you want to play them (aka enter this giveaway), you need to have an account. I am pretty much sure if Svet's reading this, he's already thinking about as many reasons as he can and picking the best ones but I expect to see the others' response too.

It's not much of an "all-out giveaway" but I am Bulgarian so giving anything away for free is pretty much crazy enough already. Good luck to all and I'll list the winners on the 10th, this month :D

Seems like I'm the first moderator to reply. Also there'll be some grammar or vocabulary mistakes at following reply, just notice me if you find one :3

After aIW is down, I happened to read an Chinese article about how aIW was separated and find out there's a site called "TheDefaced", which was led by Domo at that time, and NoFaTe is a developer there. After that I told it to some of my friends, and we just play it sometimes, so I'm not active at that time. After a while, TheDefaced was shutdown too, and I didn't know what happened and went to other games. Until this year, I happened to read another Chinese article again about "Modding in BFBC2", then checked the site and found it's NoFaTe's EmulatorNexus now :3

So I'm here, a regional moderator of Chinese, is a little sad that there's few topics there, and some of the topics are just useless like asking about the server status and the enlistment about VU. And most of all, there's another alternative Chinese emulator is up, and some players here are dragged to that project even there're more servers and players. Now I'm doing things to introduce EN to China again, and hopefully when VU is released, those players will be back for VU, after that I'll be busy again. :D

So, that's how I met you mo- uh, EmulatorNexus :P

I'm most likely gonna buy this bundle on my own, so don't count me to the list of participants...

Anyways, I was also there in the times of aIW (not active, though, only playing :>) and liked the community pretty much.
Well, after aIW received a c&d (still remember the picture of the paper boat :( ) I eventually found 4D1. Only participating passively there, too.
First heard of Nexus in a thread on 4D1. Then I followed the Nexus blog and joined when the forum opened :)
And when NoFaTe asked people to apply for moderating etc, I was like

So.. why do I like being a part of nexus?
Well, nice staff, nice community, interesting topic... And I felt like being pretty savvy about all those things that Nexus was about (which I, compared to now/other poeple, surely wasn't/not am, lol).

TL;DR: Don't have a specific reason (maybe too much free time? ^^)

You might not be but the keys aren't necessarily BOUND to you. They are FOR you so if you have a friend or what-not who is interested, you may make a gift. The more entries, the funner it gets. + It's a a fun way to find out how the mods started and why do they do it like Zesty and Robbing said so far. 8-)

Hmm... How I'm supposed to start? :?

So, before some time, there was Emulator Nexus, but I wasn't part of it. I've find it by a friend, he sent me all the files that I do need. I played it until it was closed (1-2 months) . There was a blog that I was checking ever single day: http://blog.emulatornexus.com/ And then The end of the World post came out. There was a site with the forum and the hook that I need to download so I can play it ^__^

I've did register on the forum with nick: Svet_Stoychev
I've played 3days like that. But then I realized that I need to post on the forum. So I saw that NoFaTe is da boss and I send him this:

He replied me:

And did this:

I knew he was a good man....
That's how I started to be active in the forum. ;)

Аnd suddenly I saw this topic
I downloaded mIRC and connected to the channel and since: Christmas 2012-2013 I'm there almost 24/7

Before some months MaxDamage went on his current position and I've asked him to hire me for Bulgarian Regional Moderator and he did Image

What I think about the community?
They are cool. 8-)
There are some smart guys that I do respect!
Most of the Bulgarians are very unreliable..... :(

For the whole period I'm in this community - I've learned a lot of things.

I like all of you Staff Members + MizuDG
