[Suggestion] "Player ... left / joined" - message

I would suggest a "Player ... left / joined the server" message like in the Source-Engine based games. And maybe a reason like "Disconnect by user", "timed out", "kicked" or something like that.

The server doesn't notify the players ingame whether a player has left or not.

Not useful at all, but notifications are always nice to have.

Vanilla BF3 actually has these messages iirc. I guess it's not a missing "new" feature but rather a bug/not implemented feature.
So it might be more fitting in the bug tracker than in the suggestion forums.
There used to be a signature here.

As far as I'm aware you can fetch the players currently playing. Do that every few secs. and see what has changed. Ta-da you can now print out who has joined/left the server. I don't want to talk about the difficulty of that plugin, but it is some way to do it. (as long as my knowledge about the current players is correct)

The server normally triggers RCON events when a player enters or leaves, however they're currently not implemented in VU.

I got a ProCon plugin running on my layer that should post player leave/join messages accordingly.

That's quick & dirty until the rcon events are fully implemented. I mean, really dirty :P

I don't know if the game show team switches properly, but I can do that too.

Edit: NoFaTe implemented Join/leave events with build 7054 therefore it's now easily possible to create join/leave messages as can be seen on server 002 and 003.
There used to be a signature here.
