A way to tell if a player is dead (grey username font)
BF4 currently does this.

A way to see what class the soldier is.
BFP4F had the class icons next to the soldier name and it worked really good.

I would rather add an icon (such like in CoD a dogtag next to your name) when you are dead

It's not as natural as a greyed out name. You just have to look at the name and not whats next to it. Natural always wins in my book.

Always loved the CoD scoreboard styles ...and maybe skull & grayed name when dead?
