awc.dll should be in the "Core" folder, check if it's there, if not, try reinstalling the game.
There used to be a signature here.

Having AVG installed, anything is possible. Trust me on that one!
And disabling that "anti-virus" on it's interface won't make a change.
I've dealt with people having the LAN's domain DHCP server blocked, windows sockets blocked, and several types of appcrashes. All caused by AVG. In all those cases, the problem only vanished after people uninstalled AVG and rebooted their computers.
I won't say that your problem is certainly caused by AVG, but by what I've seen until today, there's a really high probability that your problem is being caused by AVG.

Try downloading the C++ Redistributable 2008, and C++ Redistributable 2013. Also do you have a legitimate copy of Battlefield 3 through Origin and Activated?
