Instead of replacing the map I would recomment publishing it as a seperate one, here's a small demo of what I did:

My modded Laguna Presa is now completely seperate from the vanilla one and thus the clientside modifiction does not interfere with servers running vanilla maps.
There used to be a signature here.

Maybe in a future update, you could release DLC "Map packs" with this method of Clientside modifications and possibly have NoFaTe highlight them as announcements or notices on the forums... I'd love to try it btw, so keep us up2date

Possible way of distributing the maps would be using an updater that checks for the dinput8.dll and that can optionally download mappacks.

But I think that should only be done with 100% stable, bug-free maps :)
