[SOLVED] BC2 Server Hosting issue (again) - Win 8.1

Hi everyone,

here's another n00b with a server hosting issue. Machine I'm trying to host on runs Win 8.1 x64. Firewall is off, machine is DMZ behind router.

I'm following all the steps in http://forums.veniceunleashed.net/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=3#p8. Server starts, but..

1. Is not reading values in instances/bc2/ServerOptions.ini from what I'm figuring out (it assigns the default name to the server, which is the machine name)
2. Is not accepting Rcon connections ("target machine actively refused it..."). I am using both local ip (192.168...) and 127.0.0.1:48888
3. Keeps saying disconnected from Plasma backend.

4. Of course, is not showing up in the serverlist (i have the client hook enabled and logging in with my Nexus credentials). Game version: Steam.

This is a small server I'm trying to setup for some friends that are as old as me and play as n00bish as me. Please help a fellow gamer out?

Alright, here's an update. Finally got it working.

Solutions:
1. Modified startserver.bat, to point to the correct instances directory. Changed "instances\%instancefolder%" to ""..\instances\%instancefolder%".
2, 3 & 4. A combination of Windows 8.1, AVG antivirus & Windows firewall. Can't point out the exact reason. Ran server on a freshly installed Win 7 machine with no antivirus, added rules to windows firewall for all ports and it works fine now.

Same router, same port forwarding, same LAN.
