[Tutorial] How to setup your own server

Thu Feb 13, 2014 9:07 am

i disabled the firewall altogether...now the thing is its a little different when i open from frost.main_win32 and different when i open from startserver.bat
it doesn't show that localhost warning whenstarted from frost.main_win 32 except that the server becomes the same as my pc name

still a learner

You still need to forward ports for the best optimal experience. Rather than disabling your firewall, just do that, you can find out how on http://portforward.com/ by selecting your router and game.

Also edit your ServerOptions.ini to edit your Servername...

Code: Select all

Name= *Servername here*

my modem is not there in the site(i'll do smoething about that)
and about the serveroptions.ini thing lemme explain in detail..
see the thing is there are two ways you can run the server right?
-startserver.bat or by launching frost.game.main_win32_final
case 1:startserver.bat
==the server opens(along with a console box) with the server name i fixed in serveroptions.ini but nobody's able to connect
there's also one line that might be related to it Warning:Only localhost will be able to connect..
case2:frost.game.main_win32_final
==server opens(no console) with server name as same as my pc name...no localhost warning..my friend was able to connect but his ping was 999...and nobody's even gonna try on such a server

It all happened with the DMZ set up

P.S really appreciate all the replies, thanks guys
