That error seems to be caused by your system not allowing the game to use the .dll's it requires from system32.
Download This:
http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/add-take-ownership-to-explorer-right-click-menu-in-vista/then:

& see if that helps if not reply with a screen shot of the error box thx.
p.s. if its a
un-legit copy of the game that was not installed via the official installer then that also might be the problem.

I wouldn't go around modifying Windows files... Not that I don't trust Samuel, but I'd take a different approach. I've seen this thing many times in my comments and the fix you are refering to, Samuel, is a fix for Explorer, not the game itself. I've had this error as well myself and I can say for sure that if you set it as an exclusion to your firewall and run as admin, it will work just fine. This problem MOSTLY comes in cracked software or fake/correct detected malware so I am guessing he has an un-legit version of the game. Correct me if I'm wrong and if my fix did it for you

oh well yes running the game as admin would also achieve the result as the take ownership method; & yes that error has happened to me aswell but
OLNY as Mizudg said above with cracked software that did not install with its original installer.
I'm guessing the legit installer adds a user to the dll's in question that allows the un-elevated windows possess (game) to access them/system32 folder.

do you have any firewall/antivirus and/or a router? if so try adding it to the do-not-block list.
you can also try clearing the "Save Password" checkbox and type in your password manually sometimes that has a effect for some.
If that does not work, you may need to clear your My Documents (or just Documents for Vista and Windows 7) Bad Company 2 folder to get that saved password out of your game.
- You can either delete the entire BFBC2 folder, or simply move it to your desktop in-case you have special settings or save files you want to keep.
try the above.
