Custom Resolutions

Hello! So here's the thing. Playing at 1024x768 gives me somewhat low fps, my gfx card and processor aren't that good, so i was wondering, is there a way to set it to 800x600? I know about the settings.ini file, i know about changing it in there, but whenever i do it, the game stays at 800x600 for like 5 seconds and automatically goes back to 1024x768..I don't know what to do. Any help would be very appreciated!

Ye i've done it, but it doesn't help. The settings.ini says it's still at 800x600 but infact it still changes back to 1024x768.
