The 3612QM is - as you surely know
- a notebook CPU. Socket is FCPGA988. To overclock, you would need a Z77 Mainboard which is only for desktop CPUs with Socket LGA1155...I'm not 100% sure about that, but I've never heard of a way to overclock mobile CPUs.
Also, if you OC'd the i7, your notebook would probably overheat soon as the cooling system is only designed for a non-OC'ed CPU
