Montages are basically all the same and they don't really show skill as much as spawn prediction and spawn control. In BF3, those are much easier to predict since if you lock down a team to one flag or heck, to their nation's base, then it's just easy kill whoring the entire time. Same with COD, once you've spent enough hours like myself, you pretty much know the spawns and could always have the upper hand (unless you're playing against someone like me

). In other words, promoting your clan through a montage is good but I don't see a point in a clantage, rather, post a clan squad teamwork or something. I'd watch that at least, showcasing the coordination and real skill of the your clan
This is why i almost never play conquest or one-sided Rush, spawn is terrible^^
In almost all used clips i am in a squad with at least 1 Clanmember
Ye i know, montages are mostly made by COD-Fans (i only played BO, for Zombie mode xD). Still it's a big load of fun to make one, especially if you waited for an opportunity to make a set of intros
As this is the Art/Media thread you may watch the 2 intros right infront of the montage and criticise them, as i initially though people would do. They took me way longer to create than the actual video.
The problem which occurs on a clan-montage is; how do i get their recordings and then how to get actual good (usable) footage from em'. I only know a few of these guys irl, so all the other ones would have to upload the (best if) uncompressed footage.
We did that once, i ended up with some footage @1080p,25fps, some 720p,50fps and some videos with this really strange resolution you get, when you enable half-screen in fraps (1080/2). Most of them shitty encoded, but OK, lets try.
We (I) tried to use as much diffrent scenes, so everybody would get a (even if short) appearance. In the end it was a total mess. Either to less usable footage, way to slow gameplay-style for a fast-cut video
(i wanted to "switch" between squadmembers (when the current one die) and between whole squads when the current shown squad reached its goal, for example fusing a MCOM) or just everyday-ordinary gameplay.
We (I) are/am planning to properly retry it after we set up our own server (hopefully on project Venice). Everybody will have to use the same recording-options/encoding-settings, everybody will be shown in the final video. Swaps between members will be "ingame", so shortly before the shown player dies, i will do a live-transition to the player next to him (hopefully in focus and not out of sight (problem happen before)). This should give a decent, fast and nice clantage without showing a lot of dull tactics which are already known.
