Personal note to you man, we have ubuntu in our school, although heavily locked up to the point not letting us go to facebook or anything else along the line of games and social media. Also we cant install anything because the idiot who installed this made his own admin account and we cant install anything, and i mean anything, even a newer version of firefox/chrome we are stuck on firefox 4.0 :I
So is there a way to reset that admin account? Would really love to know, also the OS it self lags, a lot, on youtube, with a quadcore processor 3.4ghz and 8 gigs of ram.

aha yah I helped install a system on a school recently like that, There called thin clients, The OS lags because its literally stored completely in the PC's RAM (the client side PC's don't even have a HDD); its transferred over from a central server in your school via LAN every-time the PC is booted & that's where the information is stored. to decrease it simply decrease the amount of tasks your running at once.

The BIOS on the PC's should be locked to network boot from the secure server & if configured as they should reject USB boot-ups, Furthermore the main server will be configured to accept incoming requests ONLY from authorized PC's (GUID verification).

Long story short there is one way, however the likelihood of you ever learning it OR being able to execute it is extremely slim, please just use The computers the way there intended to be used "for constructive learning purposes".

Yeah those eh, "CONSTRUCTIVE LEARNING PURPOSES".... we cant do half the crap required for learning, mainly because the idiot who made the admin account is nowhere to be found and locked us out.

The bios will be locked down so it boots from network & in one mode only + so this will not work, & the OS images are managed by the school district of your area so the 'tech' may not be allowed to tamper with it.

I recommend you write your tech via email (should be on your school site) & see what he says instead of attempting to reset/hack it.
