Ok i give u advice:
-Get a job!
-Collect money, around 850$;
-Buy core i5, 8Gb ram, Radeon 270X, 128Gb SSD, 1Tb HDD, case with power supply and your games run fine with 1024x768.
Profit.

You can try and write-protect the Settings.ini in your Documents/BC2 folder.
Other than that i would recommend windowed mode or like Freeshnik said get a decent GPU or an entirely new rig.

Profit.

Or..........

1. Try the game at 640x480 with the resolution changer in the link: viewtopic.php?f=10&t=5589&hilit=640x480.
(Dice made certain to be a pita and disabled the ability to run the game lower than 1024x768 with the R11 patch. In the original unpatched game you can specify a lower resolution in the settings.ini but now it just reverts to 1024x768 automatically. The resolution changer in the link should bypass the 1024x768 limit and force the game into 640x480.)

2. If you are gaming on a pc, then invest in an EVGA GTX 750ti SC nvidia gpu. It will work with the 300watt psu that is typically in oem computers and it will allow you to run BC2 (even BF3 will run very well) in 1080p. Its only $139.95 on newegg.com, so its a pretty affordable upgrade.

Cheers bud,
:D

The 970 is only ~$350 and is quite a good comparison to the 750. At least go for a 760 (~$240) if you want a gaming card, and whether 2GB or 4GB of memory is up to you with a couple dozen $ on top.

The GTX 970 is awesome and even the GTX 760 is a much higher performing card but both are more expensive and require a 500watt psu to work. The reason I suggested the GTX 750ti SC is because I was assuming he wanted to spend as little as possible and still be able to run BC2 in 1080p. Since the GTX 750ti SC will work with a 300watt psu, he wouldn't have to buy a new psu to use it.

There are certain investions which have to be made when you choose PC-Gaming as a hobby. Period.
If you can't afford the rig to play the desired game, leave it alone or get a f****** job. Thats the drill.

I mean most people didn't even buy the game because they don't want to, don't have the money or whatever which excuse they find. So why they're even expecting miracles from their PC when it comes to performance ?

Lol, true enough.
I was just trying to help the guy out with a cheap solution.
Even somebody on the strictest budget can game at 1080p by upgrading an oem pc with the GTX 750ti SC since its only $139.95.
