For a mod that got endorsed on r/pcmasterrace I expected a larger active playerbase. Which is sad since this mod is exactly what the community needs.

Seriously, tell all your friends, join the steam group, invite everybody you know. Add VU to Steam as a non-steam game. Name it Battlefield 3: Venice Unleashed and profit? Free advertisement to all your friends that way. Plus it tells people in the group you are actively playing the mod, something like a beacon to get people playing.

It is not a requirement, if you are in a server that switches to a DLC map you will be stuck in a black screen. But you can play original maps with no issue.

In my opinion it is because there are no mods yet. So it doens´t make a difference if you play vanilla or venice (for me).
