Any Mapping Tools?

Mon May 11, 2015 3:53 am

During Battlefield 2's lifespan, I was an avid mapper who understood the tools in making a map. Seeing that none of the Battlefield after BF2 contained a map editor for the petty reason of "Frostbite engine is too difficult for the community to get around", I was extremely disappointed. Seeing that Venice Unleashed brings modding and more advanced features to Battlefield 3, I am quite interested in whether a working map editor/tools are released, and I would like to get my hands on one (if that is possible).

Thank you for any feedback.

Will this be similar to the BF2 Editor?

Maybe? But the important thing is, it's almost same like Frotbite 2 Engine 8-)

If a map editor becomes possible, like AlexEe mentioned "Rime", then I cannot wait for the full release of this!

That's the actual Frostbite 2 editor, not rime. I haven't seen any recent Rime screenshots, but I guess it still looks something like this: Image

Kiwi, you should post a screenshot.

I can do white text too.

How things have changed since that alpha build :3

tbh, Rime's UI is pretty much what you see there, nothing too impressive (yet) as most of the work is being done on the backend.

Looks quite impressive from what you came up with. Things take time, and I'm sure the end result will be much greater :D
