I didn't use the word "code", because some of them are just blank lines.

This is BULLSHIT, it looks like you don't know much about the entire stuff

You can't just port the whole game to an other engine.
You would need to reimplement the whole gamelogic etc.
and NO, you can't just convert a map to an other engine.

Is that a fact? I've imported Dalian Plant's terrain into CryEngine 3. It's just a RAW terrain heightmap, and some textures.

Yes, I know you have to reimplement the entire game logic, but it would take far less time than rewriting/modifying an engine as complex as Frostbite.

Here's a screenshot. Keep in mind that I haven't worked much on it.

As far as I am concerned the guys working on BC2/BF3 have my greatest respects. Including all the server admins hosting and making new mods and modes for maps etc. I own BC2/BF3/BF4 and the latter was so rushed out to market it was a disaster on so many levels. I for one have no problems waiting so that the guys behind the projects do a super job and have everything stable as there is one thing people hate is a crap release no matter how much bitching people say they want it yesterday.

Keep up the good work and I have no doubt that DICE/programmers will take notice of the excellent work, (if they haven't already). Nofate has clearly proven with BC2 already that DICE were lying with the mods and it will be the case once again with Venice.

How come he gets away with saying stuff like that to other people on this board.
Sheesh..talk about attitude. Maybe the "crap community" migration missed out on one.

That was a month ago and everyone's inclined to their own personal opinion. If he doesn't want to wait for VU or is really that impatient to wait for something that will change BF3 forever, then he should just leave and be back whenever. Nobody really cares, it's the internet. Not like we know eachother in real life and he's gone dark for 5 years.

My thoughts exactly. If Project Venice is rushed, who knows, maybe it'll be incomplete. Just like BF4. Let's just give NoFaTe the time he needs to work on the project.

Yes, of course they are lying about "the nature of Frostbite, and the set up of the levels. The destruction, and all those things". If that was the problem, they wouldn't immediately patch up every way we find to mod the game.

After playing hardline, its just doesn't feel fun. I like bf3 and having fun with it. I can only imagine what VU could turn bf3 into if we get enough players/modders.

I think removing mod tools, custom servers/LAN, requiring a browser launch, and in particular, Battlefield 4, was DICE's undoing. They'll need to seriously reconsider their attitude toward the gamers to win back our trust.

Sorry to have to break it to you, but EA/Dice doesn't give a crap about gamers.
They consider gamers to be helpless junkies and they are the digital drug dealers.

The reason that mod support has been removed from almost all games is because it is unprofitable to the game publishers.
Think about it, if you were in business would you give your customers the ability to fix/improve/modify your product for free?
If gamers can make their own content then publishers can't sell dlc.

EA/Dice has a very simple business model which has proven to be very profitable:
1. Release a game with just enough content to get people to buy it but with so little content that they immediately get bored of it.
2. Offer to restore content that was actually removed before launch to people who purchase a "premium" version.
3. Sell a bunch of dlc to extend the game slightly.
4. When the stupid gamers finally figure out that the whole thing is a giant scam, release a new game.
5. Repeat steps 1-5.
;)

Bullseye. Maybe that's why EA isn't selling Battlefield 2 anymore.

More likely they don't sell it anymore because the masterserver (gamespy) will be shut down at the end of this month. And even EA wouldn't sell the game anymore.
