Questions..

Sat Jan 11, 2014 6:47 pm

Sorry I am new to this forum and don't know anything about the projects yet.

Do the emulator have anything special, apart from being able to play bfbc2 and bf3 for free?
Like better netcode, console....

Seems like you didn't quite get the point...
You can only play Rome w/o license because DICE removed the DRM with patch R11.

You will however need a valid license for Venice.

Improvements are mods, own servers, ability to change settings like blue tint etc.

Thx for reply.
So when I download this dll and put it in my bfbc2 folder I will play on "own servers" and not on EA servers?

You are able to play Vietnam, just switch to it by clicking the "Vietnam" button on the left when you enter the game

Indeed. But use a legit game to play this or it won't work/cause errors, where you won't get support here.

If you have the files:

You will connect to the Nexus backend instead of the EA backend, to be precise.
The servers you can actually play on are however hosted by various "providers" (e.g. RepZ, Blackpulse etc.) or private hosters (You can of course also host one on your own).

Do you know why did DICE do that? And why it is not the same with bf3?
Just curious.

I assume perhaps they had some conflicting code and at the time seeing how there was 2 methods of verifying your ownership they decided too get rid of one, BF3 is a completely different can of beans as i recall they use 3 methods; Battlelog w/BF3, Origin account w/BF3, & BF3 license files stored @ "MainHDD:\ProgramData\Electronic Arts\EA Services\License" & are named named either '71067.dlf or 70619 or 71069.dlf'.

We can only assume because they wanted to prevent pirated copy's of the game from being produced & emulators to be made easily -- if at all. :)

As Venice does not access your origin account* as far as i can see it must use those license files for Game ownership verification; however i may be compleaty wrong in my theory.

*Nofate verified that in some post that got trashed/locked i believe.
