Bad Company 2 is not MW or MW2... it requires a lot more than a laptop and I can tell since my laptop can run it on low-medium settings with lag spikes. FPS drops are dependant on your ping as well. If you go for high-pinged servers, your fps will drop. I think emi-liano had a topic on this

Well, if you're trying to connect to servers in Europe (and that's where most servers are from), you'll obviously have a high ping. Try finding a server close to your location (sort the list by ping), there's nothing else that you could do imho.
