A crucial advice for choppers (since i saw enough idiots doing it):
Generally DON'T use choppers as a taxi.
Many players take off alone and waste the chopper anywhere on the map just to parachute somewhere.
E.g. misusing a chopper to get onto the windmills on Heavy Metal.
It is noobish, doesn't help your team and equally selfish.
Also learn to wait for a gunner to get into your chopper.
If there is nobody interested in your chopper then you can fly alone, but keep in mind that some servers have set a higher respawn time for air vehicles. Wasting it would cause an immense time loss to get the chopper back again.
Then the landing.
The Apache is quite easy to land.
Steady it and land it at any speed onto the ground. The nose won't flip over because the weight of the AH-64 seems pretty heavy in the game.
For the Havoc:
Yes. Most pilots land it with a front lean (a slight bit is enough to waste the chopper) and in order the chopper will flip over it's nose onto the back and will explode.
The advice is to lean the chopper slightly backward. If the tail tire hits the ground first the chopper will land perfectly without any shaking or turbulence.
Get used to the mouse leaning and the WASD steering. If you manage to combine both you will be a decent pilot and also be able to fly at very low altitude, between obstacles and evading AA fire.
