Problem during installation

Tue Dec 30, 2014 5:35 pm

Good morning/afternoon

First of all, sorry for my English.

I wanted to play with the Nexus Emulator - Venice Unleashed, but when I run the .msi an error appears: "Battlefield 3 directory not found."
And when I try to launch the VU.exe in the "VeniceUnleashed.msi" I have new this error:
Image
I have already tried to execute it as Admin, sorry if the answer was given, but I did not find it.

Where the file should be, because I have long ago moved my file Battlefield 3?
Sorry, if the post is in wrong category.

The Venice Unleashed launcher currently reads the Battlefield 3 directory from the registry, which means that you can't manually override it.
However, you should be able to fix the directory yourself in the registry.

To do so, open regedit by typing 'regedit' in your start menu and hitting enter, navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\EA Games\Battlefield 3, and change the values of 'Install Dir' and 'GDFBinary' to reflect your actual installation directory.

After doing that, the launcher should function normally.

I made a registry patcher to help with these issues, or in case that people might want to move their game folder to somewhere else (out of their SSDs, etc).
Just extract the batch file to the root of the game folder and double-click it.
