[HELP] 2 servers on 1 server box

Sat Feb 23, 2013 2:09 pm

need some help on this.

I'm already running 1 bfbc2 server on a server box, but as I try to start a 2nd I get an error with the admin port

Code: Select all

Failed to create Remote Admin TCP socket at localhost:48888, are you launching the same server instance twice?

I already tried creating another shortcut with a different game-port, to no avail.
I know the admin-port comes from the ServerOptions.ini but if I change values in there it will also change for the other server.

is it possible to run 2 servers from 1 box, without duplicating the whole bfbc2 folder? like telling it to use ServerOptions1.ini ?
whatever the outcome of above questions, the next question would be.
I will be needing to change the :19567 port, as a bc2 server already runs on that. How would I connect to it through bc2cc as you can not state ports in there. or does it not matter for the CC that the port is different and it just needs a different admin port?

thanks in advance.

Dunno if it help, but my experience is:
-copy server folder (479Mb)
-change server port in ~StartServer.bat
-change server name, port (same with .bat file), RemoteAdminPort
after all 2nd server will run w/o errors (but i dont test procon or cc)
Anyways u need to change server port and admin port for sure.

It is possible to run 2 servers.

First you have top copy the whole folder.
Then, in the .bat file (~StartServer.bat), edit this:

Code: Select all

-port 19567

to this:

Code: Select all

-port 19572
or simliar. You can also try different ports, but make sure there are some unsused ports between 19567 and the port that your second server will use.

In the second server's "Instances" folder, edit the ServerOptions.ini and change the remote admin port to whatever you want, for example 47777.

I hope this helps.

thanks, I'm so incredible stupid  . I got to here trough alterrev. and their guide to installing stated I needed to download the full game. which I already found weird. So the full game is also on the server box  , hence my reluctance to have 2x 10gb of files for just 2 servers. I'll just upload a fresh R32 to the box and get rid of the game itself.
thanks again :geek:

hello! there is no need to copy a 479mb file server, just copy the folder and rename instace 10mb "sv1, sv2, SV3" do the same with ~ startServer.bat and change ports.
and editing the folder name in line shortcut ~ startServer.bat.
